Choosing the Perfect 4x6 LED Headlights

Most of the parameters in generic terms are standard for the entire range. The main difference is their style. However, a few stand out, such as the Pro Series. The beam pattern for these is exceptional, especially for professional drivers on highways, and it is a tried and tested performer. If you want to tie it down to a few things, it would be:

-Preferred style — Which ones do you like the look of the best? All our 4x6 sealed beam headlights look impeccable, but it's a matter of taste and your car's aesthetic.

-Voltage — Most are 12v/24v compatible (either 9-32v or 10-30v). The Pro Series is 9-16v (12v Compatible).

-Optics style — Projector lenses give you a more concentrated light, and reflectors will generally give you a more area of light. That said, all of them are engineered to maximise distance and area of light on or off the road.

-Wattage — Many think the higher the wattage, the better. This is not necessarily true. Quality hinges on the driver's engineering and the heatsink's capability to gain the maximum percentage of drive without it burning them out or growing dim in a short period.

-Lenses — The lenses will be either Polycarbonate or PMMA (methacrylate). Our experts believe they are both acceptable. Technically, polycarbonate is stronger than PMMA, but PMMA allows more light through the lens. Polycarbonate also has a higher heat rating and chemical resistance, but PMMA has much better ageing resistance.

-Lumen — Lumen numbers can be deceiving. It's important to look at the optics, the drivers and the LED's capabilities. All rolled into one, this allows you to see better, not strictly a result of higher lumens. In a nutshell, all the LED headlights will give you around 2-3 times the amount of light.

-Colour — Check the availability of the colour option/bezel finish in the light style you’re looking at. Some only have a black finish, some only have chrome and others have both available.

-DRL and Indicator — The last thing is whether you want a DRL (Daytime Running Light) plus a built-in Indicator. Most come with only a DRL, but if you select a light that also has the indicator built-in, you don't have to connect it if you don't want to.

FAQs

How do I choose the right 4x6 inch LED headlight replacement for my vehicle, and what factors should I consider?

Choosing the ideal 4x6 inch LED headlight replacement requires careful consideration of a few factors to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. Firstly, verify whether your vehicle is actively switched or negatively switched, your auto electrician can identify this to see if you need polarity converters or not.

Secondly, assess your desired style that suits your aesthetics, and whether you prefer to have a built-in drl, or both drl and indicators, or no drl and no indicators for a more classic look.

What should I do if my vehicle's electrical system is negatively switched, and how can I ensure compatibility with the 4x6-inch LED headlights?

If your vehicle has a negatively switched electrical system, it means that they have a common positive, negative low beam, and negative high beam. While most modern vehicles use positively switched systems, some older models might still employ negative switching.

To ensure compatibility with 4x6 inch LED headlights, you may need an additional set of polarity converters. This simple modification will enable the LED headlights to function correctly in your negatively switched system. Please contact our experts for more on this matter.
